I have had the privilege of working with individuals living with Trauma, PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Addictions, Dissociation, and Gender Identity Exploration. Whether these are current or past issues you are looking to seek help with, I am eager to help you. We can do this together! I look forward and enjoy working with couples and individuals virtually through telehealth.
I started my journey at Pepperdine University Graduate school of Education and Psychology pursuing my Master's degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am dually licensed as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) as well as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
I am trained in the Trauma Resiliency Model and EMDR.
My focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their own inner strengths. I have had success in achieving this with individuals by creating a neutral safe space, listening to their concerns, and customizing a treatment plan based on their needs and their own timeline. I take a humanistic perspective and look at treatment planning through a psychodynamic lens.
I do teach Master’s level psychology and I teach theories of counseling and psychotherapy so I like to integrate theories, techniques and treatment modalities that are appropriate for each individual person. As a result, you will get a unique tailored treatment plan that is not cookie cutter. There is a lot of thought that goes into our work. I use these techniques to help individuals in their own healing journeys. I am EMDR trained and trained in the Trauma Resiliency Model to effectively work with trauma when appropriate as well.
I use a blend of Gottman Method and Imago Therapy for couples/relationship counseling.
My work at The Malama Collective allows me the space and place to work psychodynamically and through the eyes of a psychosocial perspective on individuals' lives and the issues they may be facing that are beyond their control. Taking a social psychoanalytical perspective is crucial in being able to see a person for who they are and how they view the world around them.
From the website:
"As a psychoanalytically informed clinic, The Malama Collective provides treatment options at affordable rates to better ensure quality access to psychological services, particularly for long-term psychotherapeutic support."
Depression and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, I am able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life. We look at internal and external factors together.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. I can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing through talk therapy or another modality I am trained in.
Relationship counseling can be beneficial to couples and individuals who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection, in all stages of their relationship, monogamous or non-monogamous. Therapy sessions are held with individuals and is a supportive place to discuss issues and solutions to better strengthen your relationship(s).
It's hard being a teen and learning to navigate life. Therapy can be helpful for teens dealing with anxiety, depression, self esteem, gender identity exploration and so much more.
